The nobleman’s horse then starts talking to him… The Horse and His Boy is the story of their flight to Narnia.

The story
The Horse and His Boy
Shasta learns that he was found as a baby in a boat. He flees with Bree, a talking horse from Narnia who was captured as a foal. Along the way, they meet Aravis, a young Calormene noblewoman, and her mare Hwin. In Tashbaan, Shasta is mistaken for Prince Corin of Archenland by the Narnian delegation, which leads him to discover a plot by Prince Rabadash against Archenland. He spends a terrifying night alone near the tombs of the ancient kings, comforted by a mysterious cat. He crosses the desert, then races, exhausted, to warn King Lune. In the night and fog, a great presence walks beside him : Aslan. He then understands that all the lions in his journey—the ones who frightened, protected, or pushed him—were one and the same Lion. It is revealed that he is Cor, the elder twin of Corin, kidnapped at birth to thwart a prophecy : he was destined one day to save Archenland. And that is what he did. Later, he marries Aravis and rules over Archenland. Their son, Ram the Great, will become the most famous king of the land.
