En bref
Jill Pole is a student at Experiment House, a "modern" school where bullies rule the roost. When Eustace finds her crying behind the gym one day, they escape together through a door in the garden wall into a land of light. Jill isn’t your typical born heroine : she’s vain, quick to anger, and forgetful. It’s precisely what makes her courage interesting.
« Remember, remember, remember the signs. »

Jill Pole
Jill Pole is a young English girl born in 1933. She is a classmate of Eustace Scrubb. She first entered Narnia with him in *The Silver Chair* and later returned in *The Last Battle*. She proves herself to be brave and resourceful, especially when she, Eustace, and the Marsh-wiggle Puddleglum journey through the wild Northern lands. They encounter giants and many dangers. She even faces the Lady of the Underground without fear. She died in a train accident and thus reached the New Narnia.
Presentation in the book
*"It was a bleak autumn day and Jill Pole was crying behind the gym. This isn’t a school story, so I’ll say as little as possible about Jill’s school, which isn’t a subject pleasant even to think about."* (*The Silver Chair*, p. 7)
