L’objet
On his mountain, Aslan gives Jill four signs. One : when arriving in Narnia, Eustace will meet an old friend, and he must greet him at once. Two : they must travel north to the ruined city of the ancient giants. Three : they must follow the signs carved on a stone in that city. Four : they will recognize the lost prince by the fact that he will be the first to ask something in Aslan’s name.

Histoire et rôle dans les Chroniques (révèle l’intrigue)
Jill misses the first sign, for Eustace does not recognize the aged Caspian. The travelers miss the second and third in the snow and only understand them afterward. They obey the fourth, despite the risk.
Aslan insists : the signs will not be as she expects, and she must repeat them morning and evening. The old site had a dedicated page in the "Resources" section.
Aslan confides four signs to Jill. One : upon arriving in Narnia, Eustace will meet an old friend, whom he must greet at once. Two : they must journey to the ruined city of the giants. Three : they must follow the instructions carved on a stone. Four : the prince will be recognized because he will be the first to ask something in the name of Aslan.
The structure of the quest in The Silver Chair.
Le Fauteuil d'argent — Les trois premiers signes sont manqués ou compris trop tard. Le quatrième est suivi avec courage.
