The book is bound in leather and filled with illuminations that seem alive. Lucy must find the spell that makes things visible invisible. Along the way, she is tempted by other spells : one to make herself irresistibly beautiful, one to hear what her friends say about her, and a beautiful story she barely finishes reading.

The old site referenced the magician’s tools and an image from the book, the character of Bottom, with a donkey’s head, from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The book of the magician is the great grimoire of Coriakin. Its pages follow in a fixed order : one cannot go back. It contains spells of beauty, knowledge, refreshment of the soul, and visibility.

Book of Magic — It is a book of incantations belonging to the magician of the Isle of Voices. The images within it move and inevitably draw in its reader. It contains many spells, including : healing warts, curing toothaches and cramps, a spell to capture a swarm of bees, how to find buried treasure, how to remember forgotten things, how to forget what one wishes to forget, how to know if someone is telling the truth, how to summon (or avoid) wind, fog, snow, hail, or rain, how to induce magical sleep, an infallible spell to give someone the head of a donkey, a spell to confer upon the user a beauty beyond mortal reach, a spell to know what your friends think of you, a spell to relax the mind, and a spell to reveal hidden things.
