News of Narnia and C.S. Lewis
One brief a day, named sources, checked facts: the news of Narnia and of Lewis, told in French.
The Lamp-post crier
- One brief a day; if there is no news, a 'Did you know?' curiosity.
- Main source: NarniaWeb, supplemented by official announcements.
- Differences between French-speaking countries are pointed out (releases, editions).
Each day, a short news item about Narnia or about C.S. Lewis: the filming and the release of Greta Gerwig's film, new editions, exhibitions, anniversaries, research on Lewis. When the news is quiet, the day's brief becomes a 'Did you know?' curiosity. The daily briefs are still in French, and the links below lead to those French articles. An English list of briefs does not exist yet.
Our way of working
- Named sources. Each brief says where the information comes from. Our main source for English-language news is NarniaWeb, the large American fan site, supplemented by official announcements (Netflix, publishers, The C.S. Lewis Company).
- Written by us. We summarise and explain in French, in our own words; we do not translate articles from other sites.
- Neither rumour nor leak. Unconfirmed information is marked as such, or left waiting.
- For a French-speaking readership. We set out what concerns Switzerland, France, Belgium or Canada when it differs: for example, the 2027 film will open in cinemas on 12 February, but in France only on Netflix, on 2 April.
At the moment
- The latest brief: The Magician's Nephew: in cinemas on 12 February 2027, on Netflix on 2 April.
- The full dossier on the film: The Magician's Nephew filmed by Greta Gerwig.
- A curiosity at random: It all began with a faun in the snow.
And before that?
From 2005 to 2010, blog.narnia.ch was already following the news, at the pace of the first film. Its story and its figures are told in the blog archives; some older articles that are still useful will be republished there.
