In brief

After Disney's departure, Walden Media teamed up with 20th Century Fox for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. British Michael Apted, a documentary filmmaker and James Bond director, took over from Andrew Adamson. The film was shot in Australia, in Queensland, and released in 3D. It lasts 1 hour 53 minutes. The music is by David Arnold.

Georgie Henley (Lucy) and Skandar Keynes (Edmund) reprise their roles, with Ben Barnes as King Caspian. Will Poulter plays Eustace, and Simon Pegg replaces Eddie Izzard as the voice of Reepicheep. Liam Neeson remains the voice of Aslan.

The story

The book is a series of stops, without a major villain. The film gives it a plot: a green mist from the Dark Island that must be defeated by gathering the swords of the seven lords. It changes the order of the islands and adds a young passenger, Gael. However, it retains the major moments from the book: Eustace turned into a dragon, the magician's book, the wave at World's End, and Reepicheep's departure.

The end of the series

The film grossed approximately 415 million dollars worldwide. It was released on December 8, 2010 in France, Belgium, and French-speaking Switzerland, this time before German-speaking Switzerland (December 16). In French-speaking Switzerland, it attracted approximately 68,000 viewers. The Silver Chair was then announced several times, but never made: in 2018, the rights to all of Narnia went to Netflix.
