One evening, a Tarkaan stops there and offers to buy Shasta. Listening behind the door, the boy learns that he is not Arsheesh’s son. The Tarkaan’s horse, Bree, speaks to him and suggests they flee.

The old site called this place "the Hut."

The hut is a fisherman’s shack on a cove on the southern coast of Calormen. There, nets are mended and fish are sold in the market of a nearby village. Shasta lives there without affection. He often looks north, where no one ever goes.
