Le lieu
When creating Narnia, Jadis throws at Aslan a piece of iron bar torn from a London lamp-post. When it falls in the new, fertile soil of Narnia it sprouts into a lamp-post that never goes out, standing among the trees. The place takes its name from the lamp-post.

Ce qui s’y passe (révèle l’intrigue)
It is here that Lucy, emerging from the wardrobe, meets Mr Tumnus in the snow. It is also here that the four kings and queens, now grown up, chase the White Stag and find the lamp-post, half-forgotten by them, before falling back into the wardrobe.
In The Last Battle, the trees of the Wood are cut down to be sold to the Calormenes. The dryads die, and it is this crime that drives Tirian and Jewel to act.
This western forest of Narnia grew around a lamppost that originated from a bar of iron from London. It is through this lamppost that Lucy first enters Narnia. Fifteen years later, it is also where Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy find the wardrobe. In the end, watchtowers are built there to defend against Shift and Puzzle’s raiders.

Lantern Waste
Narnia was accidentally planted by the White Witch when a lamppost branch he tore off in London grew and became, by Aslan’s magic, a lamppost that lit Narnia for days and nights. This lamppost became the beginning of a great adventure in *The Magician’s Nephew*. It is located in the wild forests of the West. This lamppost will also be called the Lamp-post Wilderness.
