Ce qui s’y passe (révèle l’intrigue)
In the courtyard, he finds dozens of statues : a lion, satyrs, wolves, dwarfs, a giant, a centaur. They are creatures of Narnia turned to stone by the White Witch’s wand. Edmund draws pencil whiskers on the sleeping lion to reassure himself.
Later, Aslan enters, leaps over the wall, and breathes life back into the statues. The Giant Rumblebuffin smashes open the door, and the resurrected army goes to the aid of Peter at Beruna.
The castle of the White Witch stands in a hollow between two hills. It is bristling with pointed towers, like a sorcerer’s hat. Its courtyard is full of statues : creatures turned to stone by the Queen’s Turkish Delight. There is a stone lion which Edmund decorates with a pencil mustache, mocking it.

White Witch's Castle
At the center of a small valley between two hills stands the White Witch’s castle. It appears to be made entirely of towers ; small towers with long, pointed roofs, a bit like needles. The entrance path is a large archway with metal doors. Beyond the castle doors lies a vast courtyard filled with statues—these are the real creatures of Narnia that the White Witch has turned to stone, their expressions of terror frozen in place.
