En bref
The Giant Rumblebuffin is one of the statues in the courtyard of the White Witch’s castle. Aslan breathes life into him, and he immediately becomes a tool for liberation : he smashes the doors and towers to open the castle.
Name
"Rumblebuffin" combines rumble (a rumble) and buffin (a comical word, evoking buffoon). The French "Tonitruant" keeps the idea of noise.

Son histoire dans les livres (révèle l’intrigue)
In the book
Once freed, the giant, full of goodwill, politely asks how he can help. He knocks down the door, then a tower. He is hot and looks for a handkerchief. Lucy gives him her tiny one. He uses it very seriously and thanks her without realizing he has taken her with the handkerchief. The scene is one of the funniest in the book. He then joins the battle.
