The story
When Susan refuses his hand and the Narnians escape from the city, Rabadash suggests to his father a lightning strike : crossing the desert with two hundred horsemen, taking Anvard, then Cair Paravel, and abducting the queen. The Tisroc cynically agrees, reserving the right to disown him if he fails. Thanks to Shasta, the alarm is raised. Rabadash fails before Anvard and is left hanging by his chain mail, ridiculous. Aslan offers him a chance to repent, which he refuses with grimaces and insults. He is turned into a donkey and can only regain his human form in the temple of Tash, in front of all his people. If he ever goes more than ten miles away from the temple, he will turn back into a donkey. Rabadash thus becomes a very peaceful Tisroc, since he cannot go to war. His subjects call him "the Pacificator" in his lifetime, and "the Ridiculous" after his death.
