The story
Miraz had his brother, King Caspian IX, assassinated and then eliminated the loyal lords one by one. He sent seven of them out to sea, hoping they would never return. He kept Caspian as heir as long as he had no children of his own. The birth of his own son changes everything : Caspian must disappear. Warned by Doctor Cornelius, the prince flees and awakens Old Narnia. Miraz wages war against the rebels up to Aslan’s How. Peter challenges him to single combat, and his Telmarine advisors Glozelle and Sopespian urge him to accept in the hope that he will fall. During the duel, Miraz stumbles, and the two traitors cry foul before stabbing him in the back. His death sparks the final battle.
