L’objet
Uncle Andrew made the rings from dust contained in a box from Atlantis, inherited from his godmother, Mrs Lefay. He believes the yellow one sends to another world and the green one brings back. In reality, both rings work in relation to the Wood between the Worlds : the yellow one attracts, the green one pushes back.

Histoire et rôle dans les Chroniques (révèle l’intrigue)
He first tested them on guinea pigs, then on Polly by trickery. Digory goes to retrieve her. The children thus travel to Charn, then accidentally bring Jadis back to London and drag everyone to Narnia in its infancy.
After the adventure, Digory and Polly bury the rings in the garden of the house in London. In The Last Battle, Peter and Edmund go to dig them up to help Narnia, but a train accident takes the friends before they can use them.
Uncle Andrew made the rings from the dust of a box from Atlantis, which had been bequeathed to him by Mrs. Lefay. The yellow rings draw one into the Wood between the Worlds, the green ones push one out. All one has to do is touch them for them to work. The children then bury them in Digory’s garden in London.
Engine of all The Magician’s Nephew.
Le Neveu du magicien — Polly, puis Digory et les autres, voyagent grâce aux bagues.
La Dernière Bataille — Peter et Edmund partent les déterrer pour aider Narnia, peu avant l’accident.
