En bref
We only know Mrs. Lefay through Uncle Andrew’s account. She was his fairy godmother, a strange woman who, according to him, was one of the last mortals to carry “fairy blood.”
Name
Her name evokes Morgana the fairy (Morgan le Fay in English), the half-sister sorceress of King Arthur. It is one of the many Arthurian references in Lewis.
Dans les livres
Son histoire dans les livres (révèle l’intrigue)
In the books
Before she died, she gave Andrew a box from Atlantis and made him promise to burn it without opening it. He broke his promise : he opened it, found a powder from another world, and made the yellow and green rings from it. The entire adventure of The Magician’s Nephew stems from this betrayal.
