En bref
Mrs Macready is the housekeeper at the Professor’s large house. She doesn’t like children much and imposes a rule : to stay out of the way when she gives tours of the house. The house is so famous that it is mentioned in guides, and tourists come to see it.
Look and analysis
She represents adult order, a bit rigid, which magic disrupts. Her presence also reminds us that the Professor’s house, with its corridors, its suits of armor and its empty rooms, is a character in itself.

Son histoire dans les livres (révèle l’intrigue)
In the book
It is while fleeing one of these guided tours that the four Pevensie children all hide together in the wardrobe and enter Narnia together for the first time. Mrs Macready, unwittingly, is therefore an instrument of fate.
