En bref
Col is best known from the timeline that Lewis wrote for his personal use : in the year 180, Prince Col, the younger son of King Frank V, leads companions into the uninhabited mountains of Archenland and becomes the first king.
Why it's important
The royal house of Archenland, that of King Lune and Cor, therefore descends from Frank and Helen. This explains the deep friendship between the two kingdoms and the fact that in Archenland one feels "half-Narnian."
