En bref
The White Witch is one of the stories that Glimfeather tells Jill during a vigil. She was a legendary queen of Narnia : when she leaned over a forest pool, her face remained reflected in the water for a year and a day.
A small mystery of chronology
According to Glimfeather, she reigned before the White Witch. Yet the chronology written by Lewis places her around the year 1502, which is long after the White Witch’s reign. Some readers imagine two queens of the same name. The old site placed her in 1052.
Why it matters
These passing legends give a sense of the depth of Aslan’s story. They also help us understand, on the eve of the end of the world, all that will be lost.

She lived before the White Witch’s Hundred-Year Winter. She was so beautiful that when she looked into any forest pool, the reflection of her face shone in the water like a star that lasts for a year and a day after she has passed.
