The Queen and the Heir

En bref

Prunaprismia is the wife of Miraz. She barely appears in the book : we only know that she has red hair, that Caspian does not like her, and that she does not like him much either.

Name

Her name is a play on words. It evokes the English expression prunes and prisms, which young girls were made to pronounce to give them a pinched and refined mouth (the expression comes from Little Dorrit by Dickens). Lewis uses it to suggest an affected and stiff woman.

In the book

The birth of her son makes Caspian a rival to be eliminated. It is that night that Doctor Cornelius wakes the prince and helps him escape.
