Ce qui leur arrive dans les livres
Le Lion, la Sorcière blanche et l'Armoire magique, Le Prince Caspian, Le Fauteuil d'argent, La Dernière Bataille
The centaurs of Narnia have a man’s torso and head and a horse’s body. They are solemn and learned : they read the future in the stars. They must be fed well, for they have two stomachs, one for a man and one for a horse. In Prince Caspian, Roonwit prophesies the moment of the uprising. In The Silver Chair, centaurs carry Jill and Eustace. Roonwit announces in The Last Battle that the false Aslan is a lie. The Greek mythology often portrays centaurs as brutes, except for the wise Chiron. Lewis makes them almost all wise, in the manner of Chiron.
They read the future in the stars. Formidable warriors, they eat a great deal.

Centaurs
Centaurs — In Greek mythology, centaurs are half-man, half-horse. Most were savage, like the one who attacked the Lapith king on his wedding day. Others, like Chiron (Achilles’ tutor), were wise and just. In Narnia, centaurs are seers who foretell the future from the stars. They are all depicted as wise and loyal to Aslan.
