Ce qui s’y passe (révèle l’intrigue)

Caspian and Edmund immediately argue over who will possess the island and its wealth. Lucy stops them, and a great shadow passes over : Aslan appears, and they forget their dispute. Reepicheep names the island "Deathwater Island." The statue is that of Lord Restimar.

The episode echoes the myth of King Midas. The temptation of gold closely follows Eustace’s on the dragon island.

It is a rocky island without vegetation, with a small mountain lake. Anything that is plunged into its waters turns to gold. At the bottom, the travelers see a statue of gold : it is Lord Restimar, who fell into the lake.

L'Odyssée du Passeur d'Aurore — Edmund et Caspian se disputent la possession de l’île. Aslan apparaît en silence et la colère retombe. Caspian la baptise Île de l’Eau morte.

Island of Deathwater

She is the third of the Solitary Islands to have not yet been explored. King Caspian and his friends discovered a lake that turns anything dipped in it into gold. This discovery remained a secret. Lord Restimar, long ago, fell into this lake and was turned into a gold statue. It was renamed the Deathwater Island by Reepicheep, but its original name was the Island of the Golden Water.
