Le lieu
The Great River rises in the west, where it falls into the Lake of the Lantern into the Great Waterfall. It then flows across all of Narnia to the sea near Cair Paravel. It is the backbone of the country : most of the famous places are located near it.

Ce qui s’y passe (révèle l’intrigue)
It has its own spirit, the river god, who appears in Prince Caspian. Under the Telmarins, a bridge is built at Beruna. The bridge is destroyed when the river god is freed.
In The Last Battle, the Calormenes use it to carry timber from the felled forests. The original text referred to it as the "Great River of Narnia."
The Great River begins at the Lake of the Dancing Stars, flows through Narnia from west to east passing by Beruna, and empties into the sea near Cair Paravel. It has its own god, whom the Telmarines had chained under a bridge.
Le Lion, la Sorcière blanche et l'Armoire magique — Les armées se rencontrent au gué de Beruna.
Le Prince Caspian — Les enfants la remontent en barque depuis Cair Paravel. Le dieu du fleuve est libéré.

Great River of Narnia
It is the greatest river flowing through the land. It empties into the sea, and its mouth is beside Cair Paravel Castle. This castle, which was once grand and majestic, was found in ruins by the Pevensie children.
