The talking horses of Narnia, free and proud, with Bree, Hwin, and Plume being the most famous.

Nom original
Talking Horses
**The Horse and His Boy**
**The Horse and His Boy**

The talking horses of Narnia are proud and free.

Ce qui leur arrive dans les livres

Le Neveu du magicien, Le Cheval et son écuyer, La Dernière Bataille

The talking horses are not bound to anyone by obligation : they are free and only allow themselves to be ridden out of friendship or necessity. In Calormen, young Narnian horses captured are enslaved and hide their true nature, like Bree and Hwin. Fledge, the cab horse who became a winged horse at creation, is the first talking horse of Narnia. In The Horse and His Boy, the humor comes from the contrast between Bree’s pride and Hwin’s modesty. In The Last Battle, the talking horses are forced to pull carts for the Calormenes.

They refuse any saddle without agreement. Captured abroad, they are enslaved and must hide their nature.

Companions and allies of the heroes.
