En bref
Nikabrik lives in a burrow with the badger Mr Tumnus and the gloomy dwarf Puddleglum. When they find Caspian injured, he wants to kill him : he is a Telmarine, therefore an enemy. He is harsh and distrustful, but he has suffered : the dwarfs have been driven out and persecuted for centuries.

The story
Nikabrik reluctantly accepts Caspian, for the sake of the dwarfs. After repeated defeats, he loses all hope in Aslan, who does not come, and in Susan’s horn, which does not seem to have worked. He brings two strange companions to the council : a hag (an old witch) and a werewolf. He then proposes another “power” : the White Witch herself, whom they could summon by magic. He claims to have been told that she had defeated Aslan and ruled Narnia for a hundred years. Caspian refuses ; a fight breaks out in the dark. Nikabrik and his allies are killed, just as Peter and Edmund arrive.
