Le lieu

Telmar is located far to the west of Narnia, beyond the Wild Lands and the mountains. According to the timeline established by Lewis, Calormen colonists settle there around the year 300. Their behavior is so bad that Aslan turns most of them into dumb beasts in 302.

Ce qui s’y passe (révèle l’intrigue)

Around the year 460, pirates from our world, who had passed through a chasm in a cave on an island in the South Seas, find the country almost empty and settle there : they are the ancestors of the Telmarines. In 1998, driven by famine, they invade Narnia under the leadership of Caspian I and silence the beasts and trees.

At the end of Prince Caspian, Aslan opens a door back to our world for the Telmarines who wish to leave Narnia. The old site recalls that Telmar is mentioned in three books, including The Horse and His Boy, where the punishment of the former inhabitants is briefly mentioned.

Telmar is a country located beyond the Western Mountains. Calormenes first settled it, then Aslan transformed them into dumb beasts for their crimes. Pirates from our world repopulated it afterward. Their descendants, the Telmarines, invade Narnia in 1998.

Le Cheval et son écuyer — Évoqué indirectement par l’histoire de Calormen.
