Le lieu
The world of Narnia is flat. At the edge of the Eastern Sea, the Silver Sea ends in a still wave, and beyond it rises Aslan’s country. The sky is a vault whose stars are people at rest : Ramandu and Coriakin are stationary stars. The sun is larger than ours, and in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, white birds bring fireberries to it each morning.

Ce qui s’y passe (révèle l’intrigue)
On this surface lie Narnia, Archenland, the vast empire of Calormen south of the Great Desert, Telmar to the west, the Wild Lands of Ettin and the giants to the north, and the many islands of the Eastern Sea. Beneath the earth stretch the Underworld and, deeper still, Bism.
This world has a beginning and an end. It begins with Aslan’s song in The Magician’s Nephew. It ends when Father Time blows out the stars and the sea swallows the land in The Last Battle. For Lewis, this cosmology draws on the medieval image of the heavens : living stars, a world ordered and full of meaning.
The world of Narnia is flat. Beyond its edge lies the land of Aslan. Its sun is larger and closer than ours, and its stars are living beings. It includes Narnia, Archenland, Calormen, Telmar, the Wild Lands, the Eastern Islands, and the Underworld. It begins in the year 1 and ends in 2555.
