Le Cheval et son écuyer, Le Fauteuil d'argent

The Ettins are giants from the Ettins’ Moor, whom Peter defeated in the Silver Chair. In The Silver Chair, the travelers encounter giants who throw stones, of thick stupidity. The old site also listed the Earthmen, small, hairy, and ugly creatures, allies of evil powers. The word ettin comes from Old English eoten, meaning giant.

The giants of Ettinsmoor occasionally attack Narnia. The Cruels, small cruel creatures, serve the White Witch.

Cruels

Cruels — They are small, hairy, and ugly creatures. There are very few of them. They have very long teeth which they use to bite and enjoy torturing their victims. They are cowardly when facing someone stronger than themselves. They are part of the White Witch’s army.
